Every month I list 10 concerts that you need to check out -- pretty simple eh? Feel free to add more or tell me my list isn't the best thing sliced toast.
1. Ingrid Michaelson - The Ark, Ann Arbor - Wed. 10/28/2009 - Tickets start at $25.00
One of the most talented female indie rock performers out there, her songs are soundtrack worthy.
2. Bob Dylan - The Fox Theatre, Detroit - Fri. 11/06/2009 - Tickets start at $39.50 (tickets *are* still available)
If you need me to tell you why you should be seeing Dylan you have a problem. The guy isn't going to live forever so see him while you still can.
3. Manna and Quail - The Crofoot Ballroom, Pontiac - Sat. 11/07/2009 - Tickets start at $5
M&Q is a band you likely haven't heard of. That's okay -- they're enjoyable melodic indie rock. Myspace them and see what you think.
4. AFI - The Fillmore, Detroit - Mon. 11/09/2009
Indulge in your (not-so) secret love of pop-punk. You listened to them in high-school -- admit it.
5. The Fiery Furnaces - Magic Bag, Ferndale - Wed. 11/11/2009 - Tickets start at $12
Avante garde and creative TFF is sure to provide an unusual indie performance.
6. Trivium - Clutch Cargoes, Pontiac - Fri. 11/13/2009 - Tickets start at $17
Trivium is noisy and a good way to get your metal fix for November. Chimaera, one of the opening acts is also rather good -- and noisy.
7. Boys Like Girls, Cobra Starship - Clutch Cargoes, Pontiac - Sat. 11/14/2009 - Tickets start at $25
Between "Good Girls Go Bad" and "Love Drunk" this pair seemingly has the catchy pop-rock market cornered for the fall.
8. Sponge - Majestic Theatre, Wed. 11/25/2009 - Tickets start at $12
Classic act. I was split between this and 311, but I'm not a big Kottonmouth Kings fan...
9. Camera Obscura - The Crofoot Ballroom, Pontiac - Fri. 11/27/2009 - Tickets start at $12
The indie snob in you (or possibly your indie snob friend) would love for you to go to this show.
10. LMFAO - Clutch Cargoes, Pontiac - Fri. 11/27/2009 - Tickets start at $17
