This brick wall has more social and racial connotations then just existing as a divider. The 8 Mile Wall north of Detroit stands as a lasting reminder of the barriers of past prejudices in the metro landscape. And yet no one seems to be in a rush to take it down...

As we reach the depressing apex of winter, many of our minds drift past the frost and frigidity and into dreams of months that don't end in "-uary". And no summer fantasy of mine is complete without the imaginative leaps to my annual trip to Bonnaroo music and arts festival in Tennessee. Music festivals are becoming more and more prevalent in recent years and the summer of '08 is no different. If you can handle the heat, humidity and in some cases, absolute body filth, one (or all!) of these could be the highlight of your summer....

There Will Be Blood, written and directed by Paul Thomas Anderson and based on the Upton Sinclair novel 'Oil!', is one of the most enjoyable character driven films to come out in a some time. It is somewhat noticeable, if you're a movie fanatic, that this film pays stylistic homage to Stanley Kubric's 2001: A Space Odyssey. The film stars Daniel Day Lewis (Gangs of New York, My Left Foot) as Daniel Plainview and Paul Dano (The Girl Next Door, Little Miss Sunshine) in a dual role as Eli Sunday and twin brother Paul Sunday...
